CAMILLUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Statues of angels and family photos cover every inch of Deanna Axe’s home in Camillus.

The angels bring her peace. The photos, of Morgan, make her smile. But Deanna honors her daughter most by saving other’s lives.

Immediately after Morgan, who was pregnant, when she was killed by a dose of heroin laced with fentanyl, Deanna made it her mission to share their story publicly. Deanna hopes to remove the stigma people who are addicted face.

Deanna supports other parents who lost children and uses social media to share warnings from police when deadly drugs are going around the area.

Deanna was watching closely when the New York State Attorney General came to Syracuse two weeks ago to announce the arrest of 65 drug dealers across Upstate New York, which takes down two massive drug rings peddling heroin and fentanyl through the region.
