AUBURN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Auburn Mayor Michael Quill (D) was elected to his fourth term in office Tuesday night defeating longtime political rival Tim Lattimore (R).
Quill earned 55% of the vote and Lattimore 42%; a distant third, Libertarian Brett Tracy received 3% of the vote.
Quill and Lattimore have previously squared off in the city’s 2007, 2011 and 2015 mayoral races. Lattimore was elected for Mayor once in 2003.
This year’s race was expected to bring a decent turn-out of voters to the polls.
Early voting numbers indicated an 8% turnout, far above the state and local averages.
