Svante Myrick wins re-election as Ithaca Mayor

ITHACA, NY (WSYR-TV) — Democratic Incumbent Svante Myrick has been re-elected as Ithaca Mayor. Myrick defeated opponent Adam Levine, who ran on the We Party Line.

According to a Twitter post by Myrick last night, Myrick won 14 out of 14 of the districts with 76% of the vote, easily claiming victory over Levine who received 672 votes.

Myrick has held the mayoral office since 2012, claiming the title at age 24. He is also the city’s first mayor of color.

Myrick served on the Common Council for four years before being elected to his first term as Ithaca’s mayor.

Levine worked at GreenStar before quitting to campaign full time. He has been a resident of downtown Ithaca for nine years.
