Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney hopes to go back to Washington for a second term, but first she has to defeat Democratic challenger Anthony Brindisi.
Tenney has used her relationship with President Donald Trump in her campaign – including bringing the President to Utica for a fundraiser and holding events with his children Ivanka and Eric.
Some see the midterm election has a referendum on President Trump, but Tenney, says her election is about what she stands for, not the President.
Tenney says she’s campaigning on her record, including her favor of tax reform. She says she hasn’t met anybody, beyond the ultra rich, who hasn’t seen more money in their paycheck.
Tenney visited Sherrill Manufacturing, which makes its Liberty Tabletop brand out of the old Oneida Limited factory in Oneida County. She says that company is able to expand because of tax relief, less government regulation and the gowing economy.
