SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse native and Iraq War veteran Francis Conole (D) has officially launched his campaign to unseat John Katko as the Representative for the 24th Congressional District.

In a statement, Conole said:

“I’ve dedicated my life to fighting for and serving our country in the Navy—now I’m dedicating myself to an urgent mission here at home: rebuilding Central New York’s middle class. It’s time for new leaders in Washington who will put forward serious solutions and deliver real results to the biggest challenges like making health care more affordable, preparing Central New Yorkers for the economy of the 21st Century, supporting tax breaks for the middle class, not special interests, and ensuring families aren’t crippled by student debt—that’s why I’m running for Congress. Our mission starts today and I know we can do it together.”
