Deadlines are fast approaching for voter registration, if you want to make sure you can cast a ballot in next month’s general election.
Only registered voters are eligible to vote.
You can check and see if you first step is to see if you are already registered.
If you aren’t registered, there’s still time– but not much.
Applications for voter registration must be postmarked no later than this Friday, Oct. 12.
You can get an application either online at ongov.net/elections, at the state DMV website, or pick up an application at your nearest Post Office, town or village clerk, library or motor vehicle office.
If you want to change your party enrollment for next year and beyond, that must be done by Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.
Call your county board of elections with questions.
