ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Norm wants to know what is going on behind the former Val’s Motors in Lakeland. He says you can spot the work from I-690.
The Town of Geddes Code Enforcement Officers tells us nothing is being built, but crews are cleaning up contaminated soil from chemicals left behind by Crucible Steel and the old Val’s Motors.
The area is part of the Onondaga Lake Super Fund Repository, which is an area designated by the federal government in need of testing and cleanup. Once it’s done, the area can be used again for a future business.
