LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — We had some of you calling into our newsroom asking what was going on near Liverpool High School because there was construction equipment and dumpsters there.

A district spokesperson says it is part of a high school renovation approved by taxpayers in March of 2016 and again last December due to being over budget.

This phase of the work is focused on the gymnasium renovation, new locker rooms, new lobby entrance, pool area renovations and the addition of a wellness center.

The district anticipates the work will continue in that area until June of next year before the renovations move on to the fine arts area of the building.
