Land on Van Rensselaer St. used for Onondaga Creek dredging: Your Stories

Your Stories

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Sharon DeMura called the Your Stories team, asking what work is being done on land at the intersection of Van Rensselaer Street and Hiawatha Boulevard in Syracuse That’s just along the Inner Harbor.

The Your Stories team called the City of Syracuse, which said it’s state land. After emailing back and forth with some state agencies, the spokesperson for the state’s Canal Corporation found out that’s where they’re putting what’s been cleaned out of Onondaga Creek.

The state is dredging the creek so boats can get through and the work is just about done in time for summer.
