SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — In early August, NewsChannel 9 put you on the lookout for suspects smashing dozens of cars at a family-owned auto dealer on Erie Boulevard East.
Since then, other businesses on the Boulevard have been reaching out to us, sharing their caught-on-camera suspects, smashing cars on their lots too and Syracuse Police has finally found a suspect.
25-year-old Michael Everett was arrested on Sep. 1 by Syracuse Police and identified as a suspect in multiple criminal mischief and larceny incidents that occurred between July 25 and Aug. 9 at two Erie Boulevard businesses.
Everett is pictured below from surveillance video provided by Syracuse Police.

Before Everett was arrested, a search warrant was executed at his residence where proceeds from larcenies were recovered.
Everett was arrested for five separate incidents and was charged with the following:
- Three counts of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree
- Two counts of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd degree
- Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree
- Criminal Possession of Stolen property in the 3rd degree.
Long-time business owners told NewsChannel 9 they are fed up and are doing all they can to protect their properties, but these vandals are relentless, with weekly break-ins.
Syracuse Police say they’ve stepped up patrols and are working with businesses on plans to better secure their properties.
We’ll continue to follow up on this, and if you have any idea who else might be behind the break-ins, or recognize the men above, call Syracuse Police at 315-442-5222.
