Tuesday night the Syracuse men’s basketball team saw their five-game winning streak snapped, falling to Clemson in the closing seconds 71-70.

SU freshmen Joe Girard III would hit a three-pointer with 1:34 left to play in the game, giving Syracuse a 70-67 lead. The Tigers though would score the last four points of the game, as Clyde Trapp’s lay-in with two seconds left would prove to be the difference.

Syracuse jumped out to a 35-33 halftime lead. Elijah Hughes scored 15 of his 22 points in the first 20 minutes. Buddy Boeheim also added 22 points, hitting four threes.

Clemson was led by Tevin Mack. Mack was unstoppable, pouring in a game-high 32 points and adding 10 rebounds. Clyde Trapp was the only other Tiger in double-figures with 17.

The loss drops Syracuse to 13-8 overall (6-4 in the ACC).

Syracuse will look to bounce back on Saturday when 9th ranked Duke invades the Dome.
