Syracuse University unveils new basketball court in the Carrier Dome

SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY (WSYR-TV) Jim Boeheim Court will have a new look for this season.

Fans will see the new design at the Orange vs. White scrimmage on Friday, October 11 at 7 p.m.

The prominent feature is the former players, whose jerseys have been retired, which adorn the apron of the court.

The players honored include Vic Hanson (#8), Dave Bing (#22), Dwayne ‘Pearl’ Washington (#31), Sherman Douglas (#20), Wilmeth Sidat-Singh (#19), Derrick Coleman (#44), Rony Seikaly (#4), Billy Owens (#30), Billy Gabor (#17), Carmelo Anthony (#15), Louis Orr (#55), Roosevelt Bouie (#50), Dennis DuVal (#22) and Lawrence Moten (#21), along the east sideline.

The alternating orange and blue stripes from this year’s uniform are displayed on the sidelines at each end of the court.

The Orange men’s team will host two exhibition games against Daemen (Oct. 26, 7 p.m.) and Carleton (Oct. 29, 8 p.m.) and open the regular season against defending national champion Virginia on November 6.

The Syracuse women’s team begins the regular season against Ohio on November 5 at 8 p.m.
