For the sixth time since 2009, the Camden field hockey program won the Section III championship.
Senior captain Mercedes Currie has been a big reason to the Blue Devils success.
Since picking up the game in 6th grade, Currie hasn’t put the stick down.
Field hockey has turned into a 24/7 passion for Currie. Over the last three years, she’s played on the US National program for her age group.
“Being challenged by players that are as good or better than me, has definitely helped me improve. I knew I had to get better to get up on that level,” Currie said.
Next season, the Blue Devils standout will continue her career at the next level at Division I Hofstra University.
