SKANEATELES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A year ago he won a state title with the football team, and then this past winter he won a state title on the ice. But this spring Skaneateles senior Jimmy Liberatore is sitting behind the plate, catcher’s mitt in-hand.
“Not everyone gets to win two state championships, so I’m just grateful I had the chance and thankfully every team I’ve been on, we managed to stay focussed when things get rough,” Liberatore said.
Like most multi-sport student-athletes, Liberatore says he wouldn’t want it any other way.
“You kind of get into a routine after this many years, it’s just something I like doing,” he said.
Liberatore is going to continue his multi-sport ways playing both baseball and football at Saint Lawrence College next year.
“I just want to keep doing both, I wasn’t ready to hang them up yet …” he said.
