BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Justus Holden-Betts holds eight school records and spends plenty of time on the track.
The C.W. Baker High School senior has run just about every event from the 400 hurdles to the steeplechase. She’s also a four-time state qualifier in cross country.
“It’s all about the details,” she said. “Whether it be nutrition or stretching, but then also it’s about moving on from poor performances and using it to fuel you.”
She’s also fueled by competition, and Section III is full of it.
Holden-Betts is heading to Syracuse University next year to continue her running career. She credits a lot of her success to her support system.
“I can’t point my finger at one specific person. Whether it be in competition, just people in my section, or words that my mom and dad have given me but I’d say there’s definitely multiple and I’m really thankful for that because it’s the reason that I am where I am today.”
