SOUTH KOREA (WSYR-TV)- Baldwinsville’s Jason Savacool has had a very eventful summer.
The Bees senior finished up 18U Baseball World Cup with Team USA earning a silver medal. Team USA fell to Chinese Taipei 2-1 in the gold medal game on Sunday.
Savacool appeared in three games for Team USA during the World Cup with 2.2 scoreless innings. He gave up just two hits, walked three batters and struck two.
He first appeared with Team USA on August 13th during National Team Trials. Since that date, he appeared in 5.2 innings, giving up eight hits, five runs with only three earned, walked four and struck out 10.
The World Cup experience is on top of what Savacool already accomplished this summer. Back in June, he went to Florida for the MLB Prospect Development Pipeline League where he then made the High School All-Star back in July played at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Savacool has already committed to play baseball with Maryland when he graduates from Baldwinsville.
