What will it take for the Bills to get a win in the home opener against the Chargers?
Our Buffalo Kickoff LIVE crew discussed their keys to the game and prediction for the Bills Week 2 showdown.
Josh Reed: Offensive Line
The Bills O-Line didn’t do much to protect Nathan Peterman or Josh Allen in Week 1, surrendering six sacks and multiple pressures. Can they bounce back and give Allen and clean pocket to work with in his first career start?
Prediction: Chargers win 24-20
Nick Filipowski: Receivers
Fight for your quarterback, battle for 50-50 balls, make the contested catches to give the rookie some early confidence. There were questions about the effort in the season opening loss to the Ravens — leave no doubt. Fight and battle for the future of the franchise. Even if they do that, I’m not sure it’ll be enough.
Prediction: Chargers win 34-20
Tim Graham: Defensive Backs
Joe Flacco torched the Bills secondary in the season opener, leaving plenty of questions heading into Week 2 against the one of the elite passers in the league in Philip Rivers. Can they bounce back?
Prediction: Chargers win 28-17
Sal Capaccio: LeSean McCoy
The running back had only seven carries last week. A quarterbacks best friend, especially for a rookie is a great rush attack. McCoy could help take the pressure of Josh Allen.
Prediction: Chargers 24-17
Thad Brown: Make Plays
Simply put, the Bills didn’t do enough of it in Week 1. There will be some extra juice for the home opener. They’ll make plays, but will it be enough?
Prediction: Chargers win 27-17
