C-NS softball’s bid for a sixth state championship came up short.
The Northstars, playing in their, first state title game since winning in 2013, lost to Corning 4-3 in 11 innings.
C-NS rallied to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Corning struck first to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning. C-NS answered right back to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning. Corning took the lead back in the fourth to retake a 3-2 lead.
The Northstars earned their way to the title game taking down Eden 4-0 in the state semifinals. C-NS scored three of their four runs in the fifth inning.
The 2019 season comes to a close for C-NS at 21-4
