Clemson head coach comments on this weekend’s game against SU

Local Sports

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Monday, Syracuse University head football coach Dino Babers addresses the local media and it usually lasts about 15 minutes.

On Tuesday, it was Clemson’s turn.  Dabo Swinney met with the media in South Carolina on Tuesday, but his session lasted about 45 minutes.

Swinney touched on a variety of topics, but he kept coming back to one main point” Nothing this week can be taken for granted.

Regardless of the point spread, regardless of how badly the Orange played at Maryland, Swinney is making sure to remind anyone who will listen this week, from the media to the players to the Clemson fans, that the game again Syracuse is no “gimme game.”

And he has evidence to back that up. SU upset the Tigers last time they visited the Dome.

The atmosphere was electric on that night in 2017 and Coach Swinney is expecting nothing different come Saturday.

Fun fact: Clemson hasn’t lost a regular-season game since that trip to the Dome two years ago.
