For years, NewsChannel 9 has been the faithful home for Orange Nation. This year, we’re introducing Colgate Country to our coverage of the NCAA Tournament.

By winning the Patriot League Championship last week, the Raiders guaranteed themselves their first spot in the tournament since 1996.

Colgate was given a 15-seed and will take on 2-seed Tennessee Friday afternoon at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

The team will practice on the court and take part in NCAA-mandated press events Thursday morning.

The drive to Columbus is nearly eight hours from the Madison County village of Hamilton. Some fans are making the trip to root on the Raiders.

Colgate University will host a pre-game party Friday morning at the Gordon Biersch next to Nationwide Arena.

NewsChannel 9’s Andrew Donovan will be covering Colgate’s run in the tournament from Columbus.

Colgate takes on the Tennessee Volunteers this Friday.
