SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -
#13Syracuse snapped a four-game losing streak to Louisville, hammering the Cardinals 54-23 in the home finale at the Carrier Dome.
For the first time since 2001, SU finished unbeaten at home (6-0). It's just the 4th time since the Carrier Dome opened that an SU team finished perfect at home.
Syracuse used a 30-point second quarter outburst to blow the game open.
The SU defense forced four turnovers in the first half, (2 interceptions and 2 fumble recovers).
The special teams also blocked a punt, as Syracuse took a 37-7 lead into halftime.
As a team, Syracuse rushed for 326 yards. It's the third time this season SU has ran for over 300 yards.
Syracuse junior running back Moe Neal ran for a career-high 159 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries.
As a team Syracuse scored five rushing touchdowns for the second straight week. The Orange has 32 rushing TDs on the season.
Senior quarterback Eric Dungey finished the day 14-27 for 192 yards and a touchdown. He also added 62 yards and two rushing scores.
Syracuse improves to 8-2 overall (5-2 in the ACC). SU has won 4 straight games.
