(WSYR-TV) — Syracuse native Breanna Stewart accepted an ESPY on Saturday for Best WNBA Player.
Stewart said in her acceptance video, “for the fans that watch us please continue to watch us. For those that don’t I hope you will start to watch the WNBA, start to get behind us, and continue to help our fight for equality.”
Stewart returned from tearing her Achilles, helping the Seattle Storm to the WNBA Championship last season. This year, the former C-NS star is averaging 21 points and ten rebounds for Seattle.
At the end of the month, Stewart will play in her second Olympics Games as a member of Team USA.
