SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse Mets will be represented at this year’s mid-summer Minor League Baseball Classic.
Infielder Dilson Herrera has been selected as an International League All-Star. He is the only Syracuse Mets player selected for the game.
In 64 games in Syracuse, Herrera is batting .267 with a team leading 17 home runs. He is third on the team with 55 hits and 37 RBI this season.
Aside from Major Leaguers Robinson Cano and Todd Frazier he has the best slugging percentage on the team at .587 and is second to Arismendy Alcantara with a .951 OPS.
The 25-year old also leads the Mets with 15 doubles, is second in runs with 36 and is fourth on the team in walks with 25.
The IL All-Stars will face the Pacific Coast League All-Stars in the Minor League All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 10th at Southwest University Park in El Paso, TX.
