TeNesha Murphy joined the NewsChannel 9 team in 2015 and is excited to begin her career in Central New York.
She is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she earned her B.A. in broadcast news. While in college, TeNesha was an anchor and reporter for WKU-Newschannel 12 and a weekend reporter for the ABC affiliate WBKO-TV.
After graduation, TeNesha landed a management position at a bank and put her broadcasting career on hold.
In 2005, she moved to Syracuse with her husband Rob and began working for National Grid, also in management.
After the birth of her first child, TeNesha became a stay at home mom.
She says being a mom is the best, most fulfilling job she’s ever had.
TeNesha decided to dust off her degree and get back into broadcasting once the children were in school full-time.
She attended Onondaga Community College and took three electronic media courses to help freshen up her skills. Then in the summer of 2015 TeNesha, interned at NewsChannel 9.
In November of that same year, she was hired as a full-time producer.
Now TeNesha is a co-host on Bridge Street and a news reporter.
