JAMESVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The 40th annual Balloon Fest in Jamesville takes flight on Friday! Dozens of hot air balloons, as well as other attractions, will be featured throughout the weekend.
The festival kicks off Friday night at Jamesville Beach Park from 4 to 11 p.m. It is also open Saturday from 1 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 10 p.m.
Balloon operators were out bright and early on Friday morning getting ready. For many of those balloon operators, it is an experience that is always exciting.
“Every flight is totally different. For me, it’s an adventure every time. I really enjoy giving the passengers a good ride in the balloon. It’s a bucket list for a lot of people, so you get to experience that with them every time you go,” said Scott Griswold.
Griswold says they usually fly towards Pompey and Manlius. Their biggest challenge is making sure the weather cooperates.
