Buffalo electric worker killed on the job in DeWitt

(WSYR-TV) — A Buffalo man was killed working on electric lines in DeWitt around 6 p.m. on June 25.

DeWitt Police responded to New Court Avenue after Derek Torres, 33, of Buffalo, was shocked while changing a ballast. His co-workers lowered the lift and saw he had marks on his hands from where he was electrocuted.

He was then taken to St. Joseph’s hospital where he died as a result of the injuries.
