Musicians from across Central New York are banding together for a famed music legend with a long history and love of Central New York.
Famed Rockstar Benny Mardones is battling Parkinson’s disease and his long-time friends are hosting a benefit to help. The unique concert will feature artist’s of all genres included Sammy Hall of Famer Todd Hobin, who speaks fondly of his friend.
“[Benny] came to Syracuse and was just embraced by the community,” he said.
The concert in Cortland will feature legends such as Joe Whiting as well as Hobin, who plans to do an Elvis medley at the show. Benny Mardones will not be in attendance due to his health but his passion for the Syracuse community is strong, Todd said.
“All of us who know Benny know that this to him is home,” he added. “It’s important for us as a community to come out and show our support.”
The concert will be at Sharkey’s Bar and Grill in Liverpool from 5-10pm on Saturday, July 13th. Proceeds will benefit medical costs for Mardones and his family. To purchase tickets, visit SharkeysTickets.com.
