CHITTENANGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Supporting military veterans in Central New York. Home Depot employees got their hands dirty on Thursday, making sure the outside of the Clear Path facility looks its absolute best.
A total of 55 volunteers from Team Depot spent their day sprucing up Clear Path for Veterans outdoor grounds, including mulching and planting. Volunteers also updated Clear Path’s flag pole area and made sure the grounds were ADA accessible for those with disabilities.
Leaders of Team Depot say giving back to veterans and Clear Path is special, as thousands of veterans work for the company.
“It’s just an amazing establishment. Like I said, they touch so many veterans, so many lives, and it really helps. We have anywhere from 35,000 to 40,000 veterans working for our company, so going back and taking care of veterans is a really personal thing that Home Depot takes to the heart,” said Adam Simiensyk, Team Depot Project Captain, Watertown.
The Home Depot Foundation has helped more than 43,000 homes and facilities for veterans across the country since 2011.
