LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Believe it or not, Lights on the Lake will be open before you know it!
There are plenty of new displays this year, including a reindeer barn, a butterfly and tracks for the train, but the biggest addition to Lights on the Lake is a 5K for runners!
The run will take place on November 17th at 6:30 a.m., just before sunrise. They’re capping it at 750 runners, and it is first come, first serve.
The run is a chance for the Central New York running community to experience the festive show, while helping out another great cause in our city.
“Come on out, get your exercise in and you’ll be able to run through all the lights! It’s going to look stunning and on top of that, what’s so exciting is we’re going to be partnering with Golisano Children’s Hospital, since they’re celebrating their 10th year and we feel it’s very important to give back, so a portion of the proceeds from the run will go to Upstate,” said Carrie Wojtaszek, Chief Operating Officer of Galaxy Media.
Starting on Tuesday, discount tickets will be on sale at Wegmans.
Lights on the Lake officially kicks off Tuesday, November 12th with a pedestrian stroll. Dogs can join the fun on the 13th. There is a $2 suggested donation to support a few local charities.
