Shoppingtown Mall appeal denied, deadline to pay up passes

(WSYR-TV) — Justice Brian DeJoseph of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division has denied Shoppingtown Mall’s appeal to pay nearly $10 million in back taxes it owes to Onondaga County on Friday.

Earlier this week State Supreme Court Justice Anthony Paris ordered the mall pay back the full tax payment by Friday.

On Friday morning Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon told NewsChannel 9, “They’re gonna get hurt at some point but they still gotta pay.”

Onondaga County says the deadline was 4 p.m. Friday. As of 5 p.m., the county had not received payment.
