State Police investigating fatal motorcycle accident in Watertown

(WSYR-TV) — State Police are investigating an accident that killed a 55-year-old man in the Town of Watertown around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3.

The investigation discovered that Jerry Hanlon, 55, failed to stop at a red light driving his motorcycle at the intersection of Rt. 3 and Towne Center Drive.

A 38-year-old man from Altmar was driving through the intersection when Hanlon hit the man’s car and was thrown from the bike.

Hanlon was taken to the Samaritan Medical Center and pronounced dead. The Altmar man was not injured in the crash.

At this time no tickets have been issued and the investigation is ongoing.
