BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Strawberries at Reeves Farm in Baldwinsville are big, and it comes as a big surprise considering the setbacks caused by a soggy spring.
Five weeks ago, Reeves, like so many other farms, was in a jam. Constant rain kept most plants from being put in the ground. The only thing growing was concern about disease.
“Of all the strawberries we picked, I think I’ve seen one moldy one,” said Operations Manager Karin Reeves. “They look really great, which is a little bit of a surprise, but you know, a good surprise.”
According to Reeves now is the peak for strawberry season. Weather will determine how long the season goes.
