Meteorological fall has arrived! Here’s a look at the summer numbers…

Weather

Meteorological summer came to an end on Saturday so how did the numbers turn out for the months of June, July and August in Syracuse?

Temperature wise, the three months ended up about a degree above normal. Most of that warmth was due to one month – July. That month was 3.5 degrees above normal while June was slightly below normal and August was near normal.

We had nine days with temperatures of 90 or better which is close to normal for Syracuse during a given summer.

Our rainfall over the last 3 months was just about 13 inches (12.99” to be exact) which is about two and a third inches above normal. Most of that surplus came this past month when we had over 5 inches of rain.

The Storm Team Summer Forecast was for slightly above normal temperatures and between 7-12 90 degree days with near normal rainfall.
