A push of warm and humid air this morning, along with the arrival of an evening cold front, will mean several rounds of rain and thunderstorms today. Here’s the rough timing of the wet weather today. Some of the thunderstorms this evening could be severe, with some storms producing strong, damaging winds.

It’s mainly rain Wednesday morning, which could slow you down for the morning commute.

There should be a bit of a break from widespread rain during the middle of Wednesday.

A few scattered showers are still possible if you’re out and about for lunch. There should be a noticeable increase in humidity today.

As a cold front gets closer to us later today, more widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely. You’ll want to keep an eye on the sky after 4 p.m., as thunderstorms develop.

Some of the storms later today and this evening could be severe with damaging winds.

Here are the timecast images for various times this evening.

By 7:30  p.m., thunderstorms will become more numerous west of Syracuse.

Right now, it looks like the more numerous thunderstorms are likely in the 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. hours. A north-south line of thunderstorms will sweep east through Central New York. Behind the line of storms, winds will shift into the northwest and increase. Temperatures will drop into the 60s.
